Resources

PMH Family Birthplace is staffed with an experienced team of specially trained professionals ready to care for you and your baby. These are just a few of the resources we offer new parents:

Family Birthplace

COVID-19 Resources:

Lactation Specialist
Our lactation specialist accommodates our staff with an open schedule to best meet patient needs and provide breastfeeding support. Lactation support is also incorporated into our prenatal classes and postpartum support group.

Newborn Infant Hearing Screening Program
Your child learns to speak by hearing. Hearing loss is the most common birth defect, affecting 4-6 newborns per 1,000. We screen all newborn infants to detect hearing loss as early as possible.

Community Outreach Nurse

Our community outreach nurse accompanies our Community Paramedics on their visits to moms with special needs resulting from OB/GYN surgeries or C-sections. This service may also extend to higher risk deliveries or babies needing a little extra care and support.

After Baby Arrives—A Mom's Support Group

PMH Family Birthplace has specially planned events for new moms and their babies to provide support, share ideas, and socialize.

Delivering Physicians at Prosser Memorial

The primary delivering physicians at Prosser Memorial Hospital Family Birthplace include Derek Weaver, DO, of Weaver Family Medicine; Brian Sollers, DO & Heidi Weaver, MD, of Prosser Women's Health Center; and Wali Martin, MD, of Prosser Family Medicine. Prosser Memorial Health also has an expanding group of primary care/family medicine providers and pediatricians to care for you, your family, and your newest addition.
